Tight Assets
On the way to Cape May...I mean Long Beach, we found a fire museum! And some all-stars and short busses. Our great family friends, Gil & Chan invited us into their beautiful Signal Hill home/museum. They showed us around town and we spent a day at Huntington Beach. On our way out we stopped in Laguna Beach to see LC. Now on our way to Hollywood...

Where My Beaches At?
Hello LA. When we got to LA we met up with my brother from another mother, Dan & his buddy Jarred. We spent the day in Venice Beach listening to street performers, watching local artists craft their crafts, eating boardwalk food and laying in the sun. This was def one of the harder places to walk away from, but we have a lot more LA to see and so the journey continues.
*Shout out to Dan: the fam is so proud of you & we love you!!!
Pismo
We wanted to camp on the beach. We did. With thousands of RVs, dune buggies, 4 wheelers, and SoCal beach folk.

Hwy 1 Love
The drive down the coast mostly left us speechless. One because the view was unbelievable and two because it took almost silence to stay focused on the windy road. We made it to San Francisco and ate Rice-a-Roni on the beach under the Golden Gate Bridge then ended the night with a ride on the trolley. Cliche? I think not.
Tree Hugging 101
It's a burly world in The Redwood National Forest and it's easy to see why Dorothy et al started talking to trees. Over trees, under trees, through trees, trees, trees, trees. The drive through was great, we learned a lot (like these big guys NEED forest fires to reproduce...that's hot...literally). Anyways, the forest took a toll on us cause we didn't wake up from our afternoon nap until the next morning, oops. The 24 hours of rain may have had something to do with that.
And the show goes on!

Shoes & Roses
We took a detour and stopped in Corvallis, Oregon to see Chames, Sarah, & Meredith. On our way in we saw a shoe tree...a tree covered in shoes! And on our way out we saw a rose garden...a garden covered in roses! Had a great time. Now: NoCal.

Tetons el Grande
July 13
After the desert comes sweet dessert. We went from really cool brown/red rocks to...you guessed it...more rocks! But mountain rocks this time, grey ones, with snow caps (mmm). We spent a day in Grand Teton National Park and hiked Jenny Lake then took a boat ride across the lake.
